Need thoughts for waterfall bogus-rock background that’s falling aside?
i’ve a koi pond with a waterfall that shoots into the pond over a bogus (styrofoam) rock background.
The rock background is around 8′ tall, with styrofoam rocks somewhere from 1′ long to 3′ long.
There are a pair problems. 1.
A most recent wind storm knocked a little of the rocks off, they were replaced however look terrible now. 2.
The paint is arrival off many rocks.
We’ve tried replacing this with surface spray paint, however it holds peeling away every time we turn the waterfall on. 3.
We’ve a pool pump with 1 setting running the waterfall.
The water arrives out as well hard, sprays somewhere rather than soft flowing into the pond.
We’re lookin to replace this, however until we do we need a strong background that won’t fall aside and will straight the water down instead of out.
I need thoughts on how to replace the rocks. I don’t need to throw away lots of $.
A 1-part background would be preferential as opposed to many various pieces that need to be apart glued and screwed in.
Ideas?

Sounds like you need to add some sort of regualtor valve on the discharge side of the pump. I installed a pvc ball valve in my discharge line and I can adjust the flow of my waterfall by this valve. I have natural rocks in mine.
You might want to try something a bit more durable than styrofoam. Real rocks, make some fake rocks/background from concrete.
